1. What This Website Is

This private reference site operates independently of government. It does not store official criminal files, submit filings, retrieve records, or conduct official checks for users.

Its content identifies DeSoto County custodians, including the Sheriff and Clerk, plus the FDLE Division of Criminal Justice Information Services and the Florida Sexual Offenders and Predators Registry. Some pages also connect to outside research tools.

2. Rules for Using This Site

You agree that you will not:

• Break any federal, state, or local law while using this site
• Use information you find here to stalk, harass, or threaten anyone
• Base hiring, housing, lending, or insurance decisions on content from this site
• Try to break into our systems or gain access you are not supposed to have
• Run bots, scrapers, or automated tools against our pages
• Do anything that slows the site down or blocks other people from using it

3. No Harassment, Stalking, or Discrimination

No person may use site content or linked-tool results to stalk, harass, intimidate, threaten, or discriminate. Such conduct may also violate law. Florida registry information exists for public-safety awareness, and the Florida Sexual Offenders and Predators Registry warns against misuse. It must not support vigilantism or unlawful discrimination.

4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

We are not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA. We do not generate background checks, credit reports, or consumer reports of any kind. Neither we nor our advertising partners provide services built for screening job applicants, reviewing rental applications, calculating insurance rates, or judging creditworthiness. You agree not to use data from this site or any linked tool to:

• Decide whether to hire or fire someone
• Screen potential renters or housing applicants
• Judge creditworthiness or set insurance premiums
• Determine who qualifies for licenses, permits, or government programs
• Do anything else that falls under FCRA rules

A check for a regulated purpose must come through the appropriate official FDLE channel or an FCRA-compliant screening provider.

5. No Legal Advice

Site content is not legal advice. General DeSoto County record explanations cannot determine how a warrant, charge, conviction, sealing rule, or expunction law applies to a particular case. Seek a licensed Florida attorney for that advice.

6. No Warranties

All material and functions are offered "as is," without a guarantee that:

• The information here is accurate, complete, or current at any given time
• The site will stay up and running without interruptions
• Our pages are free of errors, bugs, or security holes
• Results from our partner search tools will be thorough or accurate

DeSoto County Criminal History or its content partners own the site's text, graphics, logos, and code. Copying, adapting, distributing, or building upon that material requires prior written permission.

9. Limits on Our Liability

To the greatest extent permitted by law, liability is disclaimed for damages arising from site use or reliance on information supplied here or by a linked service.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless against claims, demands, or proceedings caused by your use of the site or violation of these terms, including related legal expenses.

11. Governing Law

Florida law governs these terms. Any dispute arising from site use must be brought in a court located in Florida. Public agency access remains governed by Florida Public Records Law, principally Chapter 119, while FDLE dissemination authority appears in section 943.053.

These terms may be revised at any time. A revision becomes effective when posted on this page.

13. Cutting Off Access

Access may be restricted or terminated at any time, with or without advance notice.

14. Severability
